Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), sometimes referred to as Idiopathic Environmental Intolerance, is a poorly understood and controversial condition in which symptoms are experienced that are perceived to be related to chemical exposures.

Mysterious Maladies 3: SLE

SLE is more properly known as systemic lupus erythematosus.  While it’s a little less mysterious than CFS or fibromyalgia, it resembles these conditions in that its hallmarks are pain and fatigue, and its cause is unknown.  Another hallmark symptom is the butterfly rash, as illustrated here.
