Many people assume that if they experiment with supplements and natural substances that this is safe for them to do.  It may not be.  If you already take certain supplements, or medications, randomly adding additional medicinal substances could really get you into trouble, so do yourself a favour: consult a health practitioner (MD, ND, or pharmacist) before expanding your regimen.

The purpose of this guide is to inform, not to advocate.  I think the best forms of prevention and treatment are a healthy lifestyle and a nutritionally sound diet.  But sometimes supplements are needed.  If a supplement has been prescribed for you, feel free to use this resource to educate yourself about it.
